Polar vortex and amber warnings offer a chance to take in a rich library of recent docs and 2024 recaps that include a film on Scottie Scheffler's 2024 and the Curtis Cup.
So, let me get this straight one more time. Larry Nelson was passed over as Ryder Cup Captain despite winning the US Open at Oakmont. And the PGA Championship, TWICE (sorry for shouting). Yes, that is the genesis of the Ryder Cup jinx for the US team, and there is to be no recovery in my lifetime. But I am old, so maybe there is hope in Ghost, Jr's lifetime.
Those Masters bells really got the attention of one of my kittens! She made a mad sprint for my computer to try to figure out what was going on. So, uh, maybe not for everyone.
That did get me thinking: how great would it be to have a Butler Cabin yule log? Then I thought, hell, Augusta National is getting really good at this social media stuff, maybe they already have one? (Maybe it was mentioned here a year ago?)
Of course they do. Feels like something that could be very beneficial for my blood pressure.
Bad TV coverage isn't confined to NBC golf coverage. College football playoff coverage is making inroads in the irritating, trite, motor mouth, "what does this mean to you categories".
Yes! I watched the Notre Dame-Georgia game with thumb on the mute button until the ball was put into play and through every commercial. Sean McDonough and his forgettable sidekick were in complete motormouth mode the whole time (Fowler and Herbstreit are no different btw). Where have you gone, Keith Jackson? Pat Summerall? Chris Schenkel? As a mentor told me a long time ago, the surest way to be the most boring person on earth is to tell your audience everything (you think) you know.
Thanks for this! I’ve been stuck with watching stuff like the 1962 match between Gary player and Peter Thompson at Royal Melbourne from the Shell archives!

Hear, Hear! ^^^

Great list of great announcers. Add one more ... Lindsey Nelson.
Regarding the ND Georgia game ... you had your thumb on the mute button. I had my thumbs on the rosary beads!
