Nobody asked me but the PGA Tour would be more energized & interesting if it just shut down in October & November.

Why are they playing now & why are sponsors at all involved when no one cares?

Finally the Black Diamond Championship was certainly the weakest field ever from the PGA Tour, probably until next week's event!

Yep pretty much a Korn Ferry Tour event field-wise. Perhaps if the Masters changed their invite policy for full field FedExCup events it would lead to change. Or some culling of events. A more cohesive world tour would have these fall/early winter events in Europe, South Africa, Asia and Australia.

New November event title:

Silly Season Championship.

As a fellow Lefty, it's great to have another Lefty to root for.

"or elite university programs where practice takes priority over studying."

Played freshman baseball. At end of season the coach asked about my major. Said Aerospace Engineering. Coach said you have a choice ... Engineering or baseball ... can't do both. I'll do you a favor. "You're cut".

To the extent there’s a purpose to the Fall Season it’s wins for guys like McCarty, regardless of field strength. With all the limited field events now, it’s tough for entry level cardholders to climb the ladder.

So tough that he gets into the Masters but not the early season signature events! Maybe that'll make the Lords rethink their invite.

Geoff, I noticed the comments about the slow pace of play, but I couldn't determine exactly what the cause was. Was it the course itself or too many players? I played the course a few months ago and while it was entertaining, I found myself wondering where exactly the spectators would stand and how they would navigate through the lava rocks.

I could not tell. I'm assuming some long walks/shuttle rides between holes or dealing with spectator movement but saw little sign of those factors in the time I watched. Either way, just insanely slow pace. Even worse, no intent to improve the situation by the Tour for twenty years is really catching up to them, as is distance turning par-5's and some par 4s into waiting zones.

Apropos of nothing today, have you ever heard of or been to the Golf Museum in Regensburg, Germany ? As they say in the Michelin guides, it's worth a detour.
