U.S.A. women dominate Foursomes before International's men sweep the afternoon session. Plus, early morning police drama and an unexpected Greg Norman visit spice up the day.*
Geoff has Dan Jenkins smiling. He is Dead Solid Perfect with this one. Can’t wait to see how Sunday rolls, if the Corbett Comets can lose anything can happen.
Today might have been the best ever day in the history of the President’s Cup. The most likely scenario was for the US to extend their lead, considering the Internationals track record in foursomes, making the weekend an exhibition rather than a competition. Now the game is on. Team match play is awesome when there are real stakes. Si Woo Kim was like Poulter today.
Easy now, there were some special days at RM and when in South Africa! But it was fun to see the Internationals show some serious heart and seemingly never miss a must make…oh -8 in 12 holes…in foursomes. 🤯
Probably a little overboard. But in context of the previous day blowout, with the event teetering on the brink of irrelevance, and the PGA Tour needing a win, it was a big day.
Mr. Shackelford, I think you have “jumped the shark” with your novel this week. While Thursday may have furthered your unspoken position that the Presidents Cup is not worthy of interest by the golf world, the effort and play by the International Team on Friday should go a long way to prove that the world’s premier players make up these two teams along with Team Europe. In my opinion, you would have done a lot more for this event and professional golf in general by creating fictional competitions featuring all three men’s teams along with a similar three-team competition for ladies.
Okay, so I was having an anal retentive moment. I do love my idea (haha) of a three-team structure, US, Europe, and International, where the losing Ryder Cup team from Year 1 plays Year 2 in the Presidents Cup against the team not involved in Year 1. Then, that victorious Year 2 Presidents Cup team earns the right to compete in the Year 3 Ryder Cup against the Year 1 Ryder Cup Champ Team. Teams competing Year 1 would be the most recent champs from both cup competitions.
That is a great idea, unfortunately the almighty dollar would kill it given what the Ryder Cup means for the PGA and European Tour Group. And they also know that less is more is what makes the Ryder Cup so special.

Jim Murray would be smiling also.
Painter pants, black drapes from a nearby funeral home, ........makes me think of Ebeneezer and the ghost of golfing past.....
LOL
Missing commentary on the matches. Such an interesting two days!
Sorry but thankfully there are others doing that this week. Today was certainly a stunner given how Thursday played out.

"As usual, I was right." - such modesty from Norman. wow.

Oh good grief.
